The small city of Sitges is located on the eastern coast of Spain, touching the Mediterranean Sea. This charming little beach town is the perfect place to spend a vacation, with beautiful, sandy beaches, amazing food and the nicest people. We were lucky enough to spend a week here in November. With breathtaking views, amazing wine and great company, we are already counting down the days till we can visit again!
We spent the week at an amazing home (that actually used to be a castle…wow) above the rest of the city. Wandering around the narrow streets, you can find a number of quaint, little boutiques selling everything from original artwork to handmade trinkets to fashionable clothes. Also, outdoor restaurants line the main street, so you can sit outside and enjoy paella, tapas, sangria and the stunning view!
Things to see:
With Barcelona being only 45 minutes away, we decided to take a trip up the coast and spend the day roaming around the city. We recommend doing this for a day trip or staying overnight!
Church of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla: This beautiful church was built in the 17th century and is one of Sitges' most recognizable landmarks. It overlooks the main street and the beach.
Casa Bacardi: This museum tells more about the history of Bacardi and the process of making the drink. With a lounge bar for taste-tesing Bacardi products, a terrace and a bartending school, we highly recommend checking out this museum!
Queenz Restaurant and Bar: Indulge in a great meal with an excellent show! A mix of drag, cabaret, theatre and lip-syncing, you won't want to pass up the opportunity to enjoy a night here.
We had an amazing time in Sitges and can't wait to go back!
